The Centre of Modern Times occupies the area of 5 thousand square meters, on 6 floors in the former steam mill from the end of the nineteenth century. One can see there the longest Foucault’s pendulum in Poland which is 33 meters long and which enables to observe the circulation of the Earth around its own axis. In the Centre there are two permanent exhibitions – ‘On the Revolutions’ – dedicated to the idea of a circle and rotary motion, also in reference to Nicolaus Copernicus’ work „On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres” and ‘the River’ – relating to the Vistula river which flows through Toruń, which includes the model of a river from its origin to its estuary. Apart from the permanent exhibitions the Centre also holds temporary exhibitions.
