Saint Jacob’s Church

Its construction started in 1309, on the Teutonic Order’s initiative. The church is presumed to be the most beautiful of all Toruń’s churches. It has a unique basilica construction and a system of straining arches. Its inside is decorated with gothic paintings and baroque and rococo altars. A mystical crucifix presenting Christ crucified on a Tree of Life is of an outstanding value.
